Welcome! A Word on Balance

Our local communities, our country, our world....does not seem to be created for balance.  In fact, this is typically even more of a challenge for gifted, talented, and creative individuals.  Our passion, intensities, and energy often are simply a part of our giftedness, however this is an even larger reason to monitor our personal sense of balance both academically and socially/emotionally.  

We are motivated by nature to continue to grow and develop in all areas, through if things become out of balance we may unwittingly devote more and more time to one area (such as academic or professional success) to the neglect of others.  As this happens we become unwell.  Our emotional or physical health may suffer.  Our work or our relationships take a toll.

It is through the BASE Village that we will attempt, with many other kind, talented, and diverse individuals, to help us create physical, social, and cognitive health in our communities.  In broad terms, we will be offering programs that relate to balance in our lives, including community and team building events, academic and intellectual pursuits, and social/emotional wellness.  

It is our pleasure to welcome you to BASE Village.  We hope you will become a part of our community offerings.
